I graduated from Lancaster University in 2005 with a degree in Criminology. After graduating I briefly worked in a school in Peterlee as a Behaviour Support Manager, I then went on to work with Aimhigher County Durham for two years. During my time at Aimhigher I was responsible for supervising students on residential trips to many local and national universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and York.

Being able to speak face to face with the lecturers and admissions tutors helped give me a real insight into what Universities are looking for in potential applicants as well as what the University would be like to study and live in.

After working with Aimhigher I decided to go back to University to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Sunderland University. I graduated from Sunderland in 2009 and started working for East Durham College. At present I help to oversee the University application process (UCAS) helping students decide what course to take, giving advice on personal statements and ensuring they get their applications in on time!

I am very passionate about encouraging people with the potential to go to University to consider it as an option and I am looking forward to working with the new ED6 students and helping them to realise their full potential.
