ED6's First Ever Open Evening
ED6's First Ever Open Evening
The open evening will be an ideal event for Year 11 pupils, who are thinking about taking A Levels when they finish their GCSEs, and their parents to find out more about the new East Durham Sixth Form being set up in Peterlee.
From September 2012 East Durham Sixth Form, which will be primarily based at East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus, will open its doors to talented students who would like to study A Levels and go on to University.
The new sixth form, known as ED6, will offer 20 A Levels, carefully chosen to reflect the qualifications which leading universities are looking for when they recruit their undergraduates.
Director of ED6 Paul Wheatcroft remarked: “We want East Durham Sixth Form to be a place local young people aspire to go to.
“This event will help to explain to pupils and their parents what the offer is and our ambitions for ED6 and the students that enrol.”
ED6 has being running a multi-media local advertising campaign to get the message out about ED6 and the open evening, including advertising on buses, bus stops, newspapers and at large 48-sheet poster near McDonalds in Peterlee Town centre.
